  • Don’t skimp on diet and resting. Sometimes, you may think that therapy and medication can be enough to get you strong enough to get back to your optimal condition. This isn’t the case, as you need just as much food and rest to recover. Remember, if your physician prescribes a particular diet for you, try sticking to it as much as possible as chances are not only is it compatible to your body, but also to your medication. Make sure you get some rest as that’s the only opportunity of your body to be able to recover and repair itself properly.


  • Focus on form, not speed. When it comes to therapy, sometimes you’d think overexertion can force your body to pick up relearning a skill fast enough so you can get out of the hospital earlier. This isn’t the case. Remember, you are practically reteaching yourself how to do something, which means it will take time for you to fully master it again, no matter how “menial” the task can be. Focus on making sure your form is correct so your body can get used to doing it again, but this time correctly.
